A zine
is a small paper publication that is usually made by a single person or small group of people, which focuses on their own
interests, passions, politics, angst, neurosis, etc. People have been self-publishing books, pamphlets, tracts, etc. since
the invention of the printing press. Most zines do not make a profit, but are a labor of love. Zines are a combination of words and/or images, put together in some combination on the page, and then copied, usually
on a photocopier at a retail store, or on home copiers. The vast majority
of zines published today focus on left-wing politics, sexual identity, feminism, punk rock and other such topics. Despite
this depressing focus, the contents of many zines are highly creative, touching, funny or thought provoking.
I was very impressed with the kind of creative energy, humor and honesty I saw coming out
of the angry punk angst-ridden atheist or definitely anti-Christian youth. I wanted to take some of that energy and redeem
it for Christ.

I am currently publishing two zines:
ECLECTIC DOMESTIC focuses in a quirky way on being a wife and homeschooling mother. It contains a hodgepodge
of features; a conglomeration possibly including but not limited to: - Devotional and theological writing - Recipes and other homemaking topics - Original poetry and artwork - Homeschooling discussion and gallery - Book reviews and political ramblings - Contests, puzzles, cartoons and humorous columns. This current
issue is mostly written by me, but there are a few good submissions, and in future issues submissions will be gratefully considered.
BOHEMIAN HOUSEWIFE is more right-brained and existential, and is an attempt to integrate the spontaneous, artistic,
introverted, psychological, spiritual "Bohemian" in me with the more organized, practical, extroverted, philosophical
and theological "Housewife". This zine accepts no submssions...It's mine, all mine!!!(rubbing hands
together, cackling)
